Description
A Huge Canvas For Serious Growers
Stepping up to a 1.5-metre span changes how you look at container gardening. The 150 cm Modular Wooden Planter Box is less of a standard pot and more of an instant raised garden bed. It provides a massive linear canvas for cultivating heavy yields of organic vegetables, establishing long floral borders, or creating tall privacy screens. Whether you are zoning a sprawling restaurant patio in Gauteng or breaking up a wind-swept courtyard in the greater Cape Town area, this unit delivers unmatched physical presence and growing potential.
Architectural Division and Stacking
Because of its sheer length and weight when filled, this box excels as an architectural divider. You can place several of these end to end to create a continuous boundary without mixing cement or lifting paving stones. In early June 2026, we delivered six of these fully assembled units to a primary school in Cape Town, where they were used to instantly delineate a beautiful, interactive teaching garden for the students. Naturally, it also remains fully compatible with our modular system, serving as the heaviest, most secure bottom tier for multi-level vertical stacking.
100% Organic Purity For Edibles
When growing food at this scale, material transparency is vital. We construct every planter using 100% organic, natural, untreated timber sourced directly from sustainable forests in the Cape. We refuse to use lightweight, reclaimed pallet wood, which can introduce toxic chemicals into your soil. To ensure this long span remains perfectly rigid and weather-resistant, we assemble the boxes with heavy-duty, rust-resistant screws rather than standard nails. This prevents premature wood rot and guarantees a lifetime of safe, organic gardening.
Built To Last Without Linings
Our unique construction prevents soil from escaping through the bottom gaps, eliminating the need for plastic linings. We also strongly advise against adding drainage stones or gravel to the base. Trapping moisture against the bottom accelerates decay; our design allows the solid wood to breathe and drain naturally, which promotes superior root aeration for your plants.

Pro Tip: With a full 1.5 metres of linear space, you can create a dedicated, fragrant tea garden. Plant a sequence of Lemon Verbena, Peppermint, Chamomile, and Rose Geranium side-by-side. The Peppermint should be kept in its own sunken plastic pot to stop its roots from taking over the box. This layout provides fresh South African herbal infusions year-round while smelling incredible on a warm summer evening.
